You will collaborate with a team of experienced technical writers, information architects, engineers, product managers, and subject matter experts (SMEs) who are passionate about helping you deliver state-of-the-art, user-centric content. You'll also work closely with AI specialists and data scientists to optimize content creation workflows and ensure the accuracy and effectiveness of user content. A key focus of this team is creating content that is "AI-ready" - structured and optimized for seamless integration with AI-powered tools and platforms. The Cisco Technical Communications group is looking for Technical Writers to lead the charge in using AI-powered tools to develop content for cutting-edge networking products. As a senior technical writer at Cisco, you will leverage your expertise to make complex product concepts, workflows, and tasks easily comprehensible and appealing to diverse audiences. In this role, your responsibilities will include:

• Use in-house AI tools to make complex product concepts, workflows, and tasks easily comprehensible and appealing to diverse audiences – from end users to network administrators to developers.
• Drive a unified content strategy. Establish standardized release processes, content development best practices, and delivery and feedback mechanisms in the team.
• Serve as the voice of the user, using AI-driven content analytics to provide valuable feedback to engineering, product management, and technical marketing teams.
• Identify the significantly complex information needs of target audiences, develop appropriate content plans, and manage the execution of those plans.
• Perform resource workload assessment and balancing across projects.
• Create high-quality technical content for complex product and solution deployment needs.
• Take on special projects/stretch assignments outside the scope of regular tasks.
• Contribute actively to integrating the latest Gen AI use cases in existing and new content workflows.
• Demonstrate proven ability in team building and the mentoring of junior writers.

Minimum Qualifications

To be considered for this role, candidates must have 7+ years of experience in technical writing and demonstrate the following essential qualifications:

• Exceptional writing skills and an in-depth understanding of technical writing principles.
• Solid understanding of Generative AI principles and their practical application in prompt engineering, model evaluation, and ethical considerations for content creation.
• Strong technical aptitude to comprehend and simplify complex networking technologies, with a proven ability to quickly learn and adapt to new advancements.
