Detailed Overview

Cleans, decontaminates, checks, tests, assembles, sterilizes and distributes supplies, instruments and equipment related to the Operating Room and other areas of the Hospital; performs related clerical duties. Responsibilities Receives, sorts, disassembles, decontaminates, cleans, assembles, wraps, sterilizes, and stores instruments, equipment and hospital supplies from all user areas. Prepares equipment, instruments and supplies for storage and distribution by checking, testing, calibrating, assembling, packaging, wrapping and sterilizing according to established procedures. Operates departmental equipment such as automated washers, cart washer, pasteurizer, ultrasonic washer, clean dryer, heat sealer, and sterilizers. Reports and/or removes any malfunctioning equipment or instruments. Issues and/or delivers supplies when requested.
