- Understand project scope including system capacity, layout, structure type, and DC/AC electrical configuration
- Coordinate with internal teams to clarify missing or incomplete technical details
- Prepare detailed, project-specific BOQ and BOM covering all solar components such as modules, inverters, MMS structures, DC/AC cables, SCBs, ACDBs, LT panels, junction boxes, connectors, earthing and lightning protection systems, conduits, trays, fasteners, and accessories
- Ensure accurate quantity calculations to avoid material shortages or excess during execution
- Develop cost estimates using approved BOQ/BOM, vendor databases, and internal benchmarks
- Support sales and pre-sales teams with cost breakups, budgetary estimates, tender BOQs, and pricing formats
- Identify and highlight cost variations or scope deviations at early stages
- Share finalized BOQ/BOM with procurement teams and assist in vendor comparison and quote validation
- Support execution teams by tracking planned versus actual material consumption and resolving minor scope changes
- Create and maintain standardized BOQ/BOM templates and material benchmarks (watt-wise or MW-wise)
- Maintain proper documentation and historical data for cost analysis and future project optimization
What Makes You a Great Fit
- Hands-on experience in BOQ/BOM preparation for solar EPC projects
- Strong understanding of solar components, specifications, and ratings for rooftop and ground-mounted systems
- Knowledge of DC/AC segregation and balance-of-system materials
- Proficiency in MS Excel for costing, estimation, and data analysis
- Familiarity with procurement processes and basic ERP or material management tools
- Ability to coordinate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple project inputs
- Strong attention to detail, cost awareness, and documentation discipline
- Educational background in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Renewable Energy (Diploma, B.E., or B.Tech)
