About the role

As our new Techno Functional Consultant, you will be a member of our Enterprise application team based in Chennai. You will work closely with our Domain Architects as well as our Solution Architects. As a Techno functional consultant, you will act as a specialist who provides subject matter expertise regarding finance and legal based applications, databases, and Cloud technologies.

FLS will have more Enterprise application management systems and Hosting partners and you will work closely together with the Partners to ensure stable finance and legal environment and help to resolve technical issues within the environment.

The Techno Functional Consultant, will also apply project management expertise to identify and develop process improvements, resolve issues, and optimize cost savings and efficiencies. The consultant is expected to provide counsel and leadership to his/her respective area to maximize efficiency while protecting the integrity of the overall solution.

About the department

Reporting to our Head of Enterprise Applications, you will join a team of highly skilled SAAS based applications. You will have 70 dedicated IT colleagues located around the world, with the majority working out of Chennai, India. Our team is responsible for critical and core business applications in the organization, supporting FLSmidth’s 7000 global employees with digital solutions. Your primary stakeholders will be Management in Business and IT, ERP Architects, Project managers and our service providers.

Your responsibilities

Projects:

  • Leads requirements analysis and verification
  • Break down business requirements into functional design
  • Manages requirements traceability information and tracks requirements status, and communicate updates to Project PMO
  • Provides significant input to technical team for development
  • Involved in Implementation and Rollout projects
  • Help prepare project plans and effort estimation
  • Collaborate with shared services organization to document as-is processes, design to-be processes, identify gaps, and establish integrations
  • Ensure comprehensive test planning: define test scenarios, create test scripts, engage user base, and supervise user acceptance testing; create formal documentation of testing results.
  • Conduct/Sing-Off SIT and UAT
  • Consult Defect/Incident and provide resolution
  • Develop training materials, support trainer(s) in training delivery

    • Operations:

  • Take end-to-end ownership of product-related services.
  • Deliver services and projects in line with agreed timelines and applicable Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Define, agree upon, and continuously monitor services using relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
  • Lead and collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to drive timely and effective solutions.
  • Act as a Techno-Functional Consultant, managing application process changes and enhancements.
  • Define, maintain, and evolve the product roadmap and application architecture.
  • Drive innovation by identifying and implementing new solutions aligned with business needs and market trends.
  • Provide ongoing user support by addressing issues, answering queries, and troubleshooting problems.

    • Key Qualifications, Skills & Core Competencies:

  • Strong finance background with experience in P2P, FP&A processes, with hands-on experience in working on finance and legal cloud-based applications.
  • Preferable to have hands-on knowledge on Oracle, Epicor and D365 especially in P2P area, with techno functional consulting experience
  • Strong ability to be able to communicate with teams of diverse backgrounds (Geographic, Cultural, Personality, Functional/Technical experience)
  • Have broad business understanding and build cross-functional relationships
  • Strong process understanding and focus
  • Self-starter, proactive individual, and able to work with minimal supervision

    • Value Adds:

  • Prior experience with P2P app configurations, including approval workflows, user roles, and permissions.
  • Knowledge of sustainability frameworks, regulations, and best practices.
  • Strong ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks in fast-paced, deadline-driven environments.
  • Good-to-have knowledge of Legal and Tax applications such as Vertex and Counsel Link
