Are you a senior cloud expert looking to work on large-scale nationally significant platforms? This is a rare opportunity to step into a lead technical role where your cloud expertise will directly influence the delivery of critical government services used by millions of Australians.

We are seeking a Lead Technology Architect / Senior Cloud Engineer to design, build and optimise secure, enterprise-grade Azure or AWS environments within a major digital transformation program.

The Opportunity

In this senior hands‑on role, you will take ownership of cloud platform architecture and delivery, working across both greenfield and brownfield environments. You will collaborate with architecture, cyber security, and infrastructure teams to establish secure‑by‑design, compliant cloud foundations aligned with Australian Government frameworks.

This role suits someone who enjoys technical leadership, operates with autonomy, and can confidently engage senior stakeholders while remaining deeply hands‑on.

Your Impact in This Role

• Designing and delivering Azure or AWS Landing Zones and foundational cloud services
• Building secure, scalable environments using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, ARM/Bicep, CloudFormation)
• Leading networking and hybrid connectivity designs
• Implementing governance, guardrails, RBAC/IAM, and security controls
• Driving cloud best practices, innovation, and continuous improvement
• Providing expert guidance, documentation, and architectural recommendations
• Resolving complex, high‑impact technical challenges

What You Must Bring

• 5+ years’ senior cloud engineering / architecture experience
• Deep expertise in Azure OR AWS (both is a strong advantage)
• Proven delivery of enterprise‑scale cloud platforms
• Strong capability across IaC, security, networking, and DevOps
• Experience operating under Australian Government compliance frameworks
• Ability to obtain NV1 security clearance
• Relevant Azure or AWS certifications are highly regarded.
