Core Responsibilities

The broad scope of responsibility of this role requires a solid experience and understanding of information strategy, patterns, designs, and a principle driven approach to transformational challenges and opportunities. As the Integration Architecture SME you will:

  • Define and evangelise the integration architecture vision, strategy, patterns and blueprints.
  • Provide guidance and governance on integration design and evolution.
  • Integration Subject Matter Expert who can articulate the capabilities of IG integration technologies and provide close support to engineering teams in design & implementation, with a particular focus on particular asynchronous messaging & Kafka
  • Maintain IG relationship with technology vendors and implementation partners including monitoring of their strategy, product, and roadmaps.
  • Research the technology landscape, analyse the impact on IG technology and recommend new technologies where appropriate.
  • Participate in technology governance and modernisation processes to ensure technology fitness through the full lifecycle.
  • Actively participate with the architecture and engineering communities to provide thought leadership, coaching and mentoring to build a community around integration best practice.

    • Collaborate with and influence engineering teams to adopt appropriate integration patterns and standards to deliver a consistent integration architecture.

  • Good facilitator, draws out problems, involving and gaining commitment from the relevant stakeholders with credibility and gravitas to establish trust, gaining consensus and buy-in.
  • Politically aware, able to facilitate outcomes where priorities and personalities are in conflict.

    Background experience

  • + years of IT delivery experience.
  • + years of experience in an integration architecture role , ideally gained in Financial Services.
  • Deep understanding of synchronous and asynchronous integration patterns.
  • Demonstrable experience using a wide variety of integration technologies, primarily messaging ( Kafka , Confluent products , MQ, AMQ, Rabbit MQ, Red Panda)
  • Good understanding of Messaging best practice & API Gateway design / topology / implementation
  • Good understanding of API best practice & API Gateway design / topology / implementation
  • Experience of API management technologies such as Kong or Apogee.

    • Experience of AWS and GCP cloud integration technologies.

    Mobility

  • Possible occasional travel between IG offices in Bangalore and London to meet with team members and stakeholders.

    • IG operates a hybrid working policy
