L.L.Bean is currently seeking a Temporary Electrical Apprentice/Helper to join our team at the Order Fulfillment Center in Freeport, Maine. This full-time, paid opportunity offers hands-on experience working alongside our skilled Industrial Electricians in a fast-paced, high-tech, and collaborative environment.
The ideal candidate will have a foundational understanding of electrical concepts such as voltage, current, resistance, and power, and a strong interest in developing their electrical aptitude. As an apprentice, you’ll gain practical experience while learning the essential skills required to become a licensed electrician.

Position Details:
+ Location: Freeport, Maine
+ Type: Full-time, Temporary
+ Pay Rate: $22.00/hour
+ Focus: Hands-on training with qualified Industrial Electricians
Position Purpose: To provide assistance in performing a variety of electrical trade functions under the direct supervision of senior electricians.
Responsibilities:
+ Recognizes and avoids electrical hazards while safely performing basic electrical tasks.
+ Installs, maintains and troubleshoots lighting systems under the direction of senior level electricians. Follows procedures and properly handles Universal Waste per state guidelines.
+ Identifies electrical hazard conditions or actions that may cause injury or property damage and ensures action to abate them.
+ Assures appropriate communication of issues and problems to coworkers and leadership. Collaborates with team as needed to achieve objectives. Shares knowledge in support of others to build technical and diagnostic strength in the team.
+ Assist in the maintenance and repair of a variety of power distribution systems and production equipment.
+ Assist in completing preventative maintenance on equipment as required.
+ Assumes additional responsibilities as assigned.

Education Level: HS or Equivalent
Years of Experience: 6 months-1+ years
Skills & Qualifications:
+ Basic commercial or industrial electrical experience preferred not required
+ Good analytical and problem solving skills
+ Able to manage work to completion
+ Exposure to the NEC (National Electrical Code) and NFPA 70E (Electrical Safety in the Workplace)
+ Able to troubleshoot basic electrical controls preferred
+ Self motivated, able to complete assignments independently while receiving guidance from senior level electricians
+ Valid state driver's license required
+ Personal computer skills
+ Good communication skills both verbal and written
