School: Golden Horn Elementary School Location: WhitehorsePosition: Temp Teacher - Grade 2FTE: 0.2Start Date: January 7, 2026 End Date: June 10, 2026Assignment: Teacher - Grade 2To learn more about being a teacher with Yukon Education, including salary, terms, and conditions of employment and how to apply visit our .If you are passionate and committed to making a positive impact on education in the Yukon, we want to hear from you!QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:Please clearly demonstrate on your cover letter and resume, how you meet the following qualifications and experience: Bachelor of Education Experience teaching at the primary grade levels in a classroom, including literacy and numeracy. Experience teaching structured literacy; Experience infusing First Peoples ways of Knowing, Doing and Being into the curriculum to support and instruct students Experience in the design and implementation of differentiated programming for diverse needs in the classroomExperience utilizing universal design for learning in the classroom; Experience and/or willingness to incorporate the outdoors into the curriculum is an asset.DESIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND SUITABILITY:Candidates should have and may be assessed on their: Willingness and ability to work as a member of a team and to participate in the total school programs and initiatives. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to establish trusting relationships and work with students, parents, staff members, consultants, and administrators. Ability to adapt curriculum to meet the needs of students with a range of learning styles and abilities and to meet the needs of students with Individual Educational Plans. Effective and respectful classroom management based on a developmental understanding of children’s strengths and needs. A strong commitment to the practice of differentiated instruction and assessment within the classroom to meet student needs. Strong commitment to and proven dedication to support the philosophy, values and beliefs of the school.
