Snapshot / Role Overview We're seeking a Tenant Improvement Project Engineer in San Diego to provide technical support for commercial tenant space construction. Impact • Design efficient HVAC solutions that create productive work environments for new tenants • Coordinate complex mechanical installations within existing building infrastructure • Ensure code compliance and system performance for tenant satisfaction • Support project teams with technical expertise and problem-solving capabilities Responsibilities • Provide engineering support for tenant improvement projects throughout San Diego region • Review architectural plans and develop mechanical system layouts for tenant spaces • Coordinate with building engineers on tie-ins to existing HVAC and utility systems • Conduct site surveys and assess existing building conditions for renovation projects • Prepare engineering calculations and specifications for permit submittals • Support field teams with technical guidance during installation activities • Participate in design meetings with architects, tenants, and building owners • Assist with system commissioning and ensure proper operation before tenant occupancy Requirements Must-Haves • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field • 4 years of experience in commercial HVAC design or tenant improvement projects • Strong understanding of building systems and tenant improvement construction processes • Proficiency in CAD software and engineering calculation tools • Excellent communication and project coordination abilities Nice-to-Haves • Professional Engineer (PE) license or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification • Experience with energy-efficient design and sustainable building practices • Knowledge of building automation systems and modern workplace trends Compensation & Logistics Competitive salary depending on experience; benefits include health insurance, dental coverage, vision care, PTO, paid holidays, and retirement plan.
