Tenure-Track Faculty Position in Surface and Underground Mining (Teaching-Focused).
The Robert M. Buchan Department of Mining at the Stephen J.R. Smith Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science, Queen’s University invites applications for a tenure-track teaching-focused faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor. Preferred start date July 1, 2026.
Responsibilities: Teaching will comprise approximately 70% of the appointment. The successful candidate will also be expected to contribute through service to the department, faculty, university, and broader community.
Annual salary: $150,000–$180,000 (commensurate with experience).
Qualifications
Doctorate (Ph.D.) in Mining Engineering or related discipline by appointment start date; professional engineering licensure in Canada required.
