Job Description
The Test & Verification Engineer is responsible for defining, executing, and supporting testing and verification activities for power connectors and cable assemblies during production line transfer and sustaining phases.
The role ensures that products meet design intent and performance requirements prior to and during ramp-up, while enabling rapid issue detection and resolution in production.
Key Responsibilities:
- Define test and verification strategies to support production line transfers and sustaining products
- Develop, release, and maintain in-process and end-of-line (EOL) test methods
- Design, specify, and support electrical and mechanical test fixtures (continuity, HV, LLCR, pull force, etc.)
- Execute and document verification testing for samples, First Articles, and transferred lines
- Support root cause analysis by providing test data and failure analysis insights
- Coordinate and manage external laboratory testing when required
- Ensure test equipment calibration, traceability, and compliance with applicable standards
- Support validation of rework methods and corrective actions
- Collaborate with Product Development, DFM/DFA, and Process Engineers to ensure test coverage aligns with design and process risks
Scope & Authority:
- Ownership of test and verification methods used during line transfer and sustaining
- Authority to recommend test improvements and additional verification based on risk assessment
- No ownership of customer qualification plans or product specification definition
Success Metrics:
- Timely completion of test and verification activities during line transfer
- Effectiveness of test methods in detecting defects and process escapes
- Reduction in post-transfer quality issues related to insufficient test coverage
- Test and verification cycle time
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical, Mechanical, or Test Engineering
- 2-4 years of experience in test, verification, or validation engineering (electromechanical products preferred)
- Hands-on experience with electrical and mechanical testing methods
- Experience supporting production or transfer-related testing
Desired Skills & Attributes:
- Strong understanding of power connectors and cable assemblies
- Familiarity with high-current and high-voltage testing concepts
- Experience designing or specifying test fixtures
- Data-driven and detail-oriented mindset
- Ability to work cross-functionally in a production-focused R&D environment
