Job Description
We are searching for a dependable graduate engineer to join our capable team. The graduate engineer will be responsible for completing all tasks assigned by the Senior Engineer/Manager, assisting other engineers with projects, conducting research, and writing reports. You should be able to follow instructions but also take initiative and come up with original ideas.
To be successful as a Testing and Commissioning engineer, you should have a growth mindset and a commitment to lifelong learning. Outstanding candidates should be highly observant, willing to assist wherever possible, and eager to readily engage with Engineers outside of their area of specialization.
Responsibilities:
- Understanding project requirements and completing all duties assigned by the Senior Engineer/Manager.
- Shadowing senior staff members, asking questions, and assisting wherever possible.
- Raising concerns and making suggestions for improvement where appropriate.
- Conducting research and traveling to sites.
- Observing health and safety regulations at all times.
- Participating in meetings and attending workshops and other training initiatives.
- Analysing data and writing reports according to specifications.
- Take notes and share your findings with your Senior Engineer/Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
- Establishing professional relationships with staff.
- Maintaining a high degree of professionalism and diligence.
- Testing and Commissioning of power system equipment such as Switchgear, CT/VT/DC (Battery and Battery Charger) Systems/ Power Transformers/ Auxiliary Transformers/Generator/Motor/ Sizing/ Earthing / Power System Protection Relays/ Control/Power & Control Cable / Protection and Control scheme verification /TRM/QRM Testing/Substation Control and Monitoring System /SCADA/Distribution Management System /Control Panel/Relay Panel/AVR panel/OLTC/ Interlocking panel/Interlocking Scheme/ Solar Power/ Fault Monitoring Systems.
- Verification of Single line Diagram, Scheme Drawing, Interlocking drawings etc.
- Testing of Lightning Arrester.
- Equipment Layout preparation in coordination with Civil /Mechanical/Fire Fighting Team.
- Fault troubleshooting and RCA report preparation.
- Coordination with client.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering discipline is a minimum requirement. However, priority will be given to those who have Bachelor of Engineering or Bachelor of Technology in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Electrical and Computer Engineering discipline.
- Leading Testing Team.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Compliance of HSE.
- Testing and Commissioning Test report preparation.
- Method of Statement Preparation.
- Superb time management and professionalism.
- Knowledge of Design calculation software such as ASPEN, SINCAL, CTDIm, ETAP, CYME, SKM, & Transient Fault Analysis.
- Auto CAD.
- Protection IED’s Software knowledge.
- MS Office.
- DC /AC System knowledge.
- Knowledge of all equipment such as Switchgear, CT/VT/DC (Battery and Battery Charger) Systems/ Power Transformers/ Auxiliary Transformers/Generator/Motor/ Sizing/ Earthing / Power System Protection Relays/ Control/Power & Control Cable / Protection and Control scheme verification /TRM/QRM Testing/Substation Control and Monitoring System /SCADA/Distribution Management System /Control Panel/Relay Panel/AVR panel/OLTC/ Interlocking panel/Interlocking Scheme/ Solar Power.
- Knowledge of programming languages is an additional advantage.
- Load flow/Short circuit calculation/Protection Study an additional advantage.
- Knowledge of Fault Monitoring System.
- Knowledge of International Standards such as IEC, IEEE, BS etc.
- Knowledge in Cyber Security & IEC 61850.
- Membership with IET/IEEE is an additional advantage.
- A growth mindset and willingness to accept criticism.
- A valid driver’s license is an additional advantage.
