Textile Designer

Dakshinam Sarees is looking for a passionate individual to join us in a unique hybrid role that blends textile design, storytelling, and retail. This is an opportunity to build something meaningful around sarees, craft, and culture. We are seeking an entry-level textile designer who loves sarees and handlooms, and who enjoys engaging with customers. You will work with the design team on collections, colours, motifs, and fabrics, while also spending time on the shop floor understanding customers and translating design into real experiences and sales.

Key Responsibilities

Assist in developing saree designs, colour stories, motifs, and fabric concepts

Support sampling, swatch making, and design documentation

Communicate the story behind each saree to customers

Engage with customers and help them choose products

Gather customer feedback and convert it into design inputs

Support visual merchandising and in-store displays

Coordinate with weavers, vendors, and production teams

Who You Are

Genuinely passionate about sarees, handloom

Comfortable interacting with people and explaining design stories

Curious, observant, and eager to learn

Able to balance time between studio and shop floor

Strong communication skills in English
