Tooling Specialist

**Description:** Survey tool orders and tool designs to review planning and design data for practicability and necessity of tool. Establish tool fabrication and shop span time, and recommend revision if necessary. Determine and order required materials, reference tools, and coordinating tools. Develop supplemental sketches of tools or component details to facilitate tooling fabrication and manufacture. Specialize in such duties in one of the tool manufacturing shops and have general familiarity with the other tool manufacturing shops.
WORK PERFORMED
Survey and analyze tool orders and tool designs to determine the practicability of the tool as pertains to tooling costs, ease of manufacture, and necessity of tool. Review design and planning data to determine whether method of manufacture and available shop equipment is practicable, and recommend changes as necessary.
