Job Summary:

The Tools & Automations Engineer is responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the tooling ecosystem that supports job scheduling, monitoring, and operational visibility. This role focuses on ensuring the reliability and efficiency of IT operations by integrating and optimizing tools that enhance infrastructure performance. Reporting to the Tools, Monitoring, & Automation Lead, the engineer will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions, drive process improvements, and support the organizations strategic goals. The role requires strong collaboration with Solution Architecture & Engineering teams across domains to develop tooling solutions that meet strategic and stakeholder requirements.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement innovative infrastructure tooling solutions, aligned with defined standards
  • Collaborate with the Tools & Automations Lead to develop strategies and roadmaps for the continuous improvement of tooling and platforms
  • Partner with technology teams to identify, test, and implement monitoring and job scheduling tools across the infrastructure platforms and estate
  • Conduct requirements analysis for incoming requests to clearly define deliverables and secure stakeholder agreement
  • Proactively identify opportunities for continuous improvement in systems and processes, proposing, and implementing enhancement activities
  • Incorporate security-by-design principles into all solutions to maintain alignment with both technical and security requirements
  • Serve as a subject matter expert for incident resolution, providing technical support for P1/P2 incidents and complex troubleshooting
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and third-party vendors to propose, review, and implement new standards, technologies, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Continuously develop technical and non-technical skills to stay updated on emerging technologies and foster holistic thinking during design processes

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree in information technology, Computer Science, or equivalent experience
  • 5+ years of experience in developing and implementing tooling and automation within an enterprise IT Infrastructure & Operations (IT I&O) operations environment
  • Proficiency in job scheduling tools(any) and monitoring platforms, with experience in tools like SolarWinds/ Dynatrace/ Datadog
  • Strong scripting and programming skills in languages such as PowerShell/ Python.
  • ITSM ServiceNow
  • Broad knowledge of IT infrastructure systems, including networking, security, and disaster recovery technologies
  • Proven ability to conduct requirements analysis, create solution designs, and deliver high-quality engineering solutions
  • Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and third-party vendors to drive innovation and continuous improvement
  • Commitment to continuous personal development, keeping technical skills current and relevant
