Senvion is looking for a Towers Engineer with 5+ years of experience who can design and release fully validated machined and fabricated components of towers for manufacturing, transportation, installation, operations and maintenance of wind turbines, sub-assemblies and components.

In alignment with engineering and cross functional teams, tower structural engineer delivers 100% tower structure BOM on time and in FULL.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver tower structural calculations/Detailed drawings/ Interpret FEA Result and assist in developing/optimizing designs and processes
• Design tower shell, flanges & anchor cage for ULS and FLS loads as per latest standards.
• Deliver the technical solution within quality, time and cost targets of the project.
• Identify and report technical risks within the project scope.
• Provide feedback and challenge design solutions to interfacing systems to optimize product design
• Development and optimization of FE models and post-processing tools
• Develop Tower Design for multi megawatt wind turbines with extended support on lifting, assembly, transportation, installation, service and maintenance
• Execute and delivery on scope, time and budget of dedicated project portfolio as per the Mark schedules
• Take ownership of design and BoM through the complete life cycle
• Development and adaptation of design to resolve the NCs from manufacturing, assembly and installation
• Close cooperation with other cross functional departments (NPI, supply chain, Quality, production, installation and O&M). Supporting prototype test and serialization of towers, tool or fixtures
• Generate cost out ideas and implement in design for cost reduction
• Ensure 100% compliance with QMS processes
• Communicate appropriately to all teams about program execution progress, risk, milestones etc.

Desired Professional Experience

• Master's degree in mechanical engineering
• Minimum Professional experience: 5-10 years
• Experience in industrial structures design, Tower design
• Expertise in Fatigue analysis/Dynamic analysis/Seismic analysis of tower
• Experience in bolt connections and weld design
• Experience in the design of turbine or preferably dynamically loaded structures
• Experience in alternate tower technologies – Steel tube tower, Hybrid lattice tower & Concrete Hybrid tower development is good to have
• Experience in working with international standards like Eurocodes, American codes etc.
• Must have a good understanding of the manufacturing processes, design for manufacturing, design for assembly and design for transport and logistics
• Working experience executing projects involving highest safety standards performing risk assessments
• Interactions with suppliers for manufacturing
• Experiences with the design of steel components welded steel assemblies
• Must have good working experience of at least 5 years with ANSYS WB/Classic software
• Must have good working experience of at least 2 years with CAD software, preferably Solid Works
• Programing skill, MATLAB is good to have
• Experience in SAP, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Power Point)
• Problem solving skills, customer focus and ability to think globally across key process areas
• Prior international work experience is advantageous particularly with western MNCs
