Tractor Operator (Motor Vehicle Operator)

Summary This position will be assigned to the JBSA-Lackland Golf Course. This is a flexible category position with no guaranteed hrs. May work up to 40 hrs./wk. Scheduled as needed. Employees appointed to flexible position are not eligible for benefits. Must be physically able to frequently lift and carry objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Must be able to frequently stoop, bend, reach, and climb. Responsibilities Operates field-type tractors with attachments to maintain the grasses at the golf course. Operates a variety of equipment to include but not limited to the following: mowers, aerators, plows, harrows, clippers, sprayers, disks, post hole diggers, moveable dozer, blades, backhoe, and other equipment ranging from small handheld applicators to tractor drawn liquid and solid dispensers. Makes all adjustments to equipment to ensure proper settings, connections, and mechanical soundness of equipment. Observes all safety rules and regulations pertaining to vehicle operation.
