Job Description
Position Description:The Trade Compliance Specialist plays a key role in supporting Trek’s global trade complianceprogram by enabling compliant, efficient import and export operations across the business. Thisposition partners closely with internal teams, external brokers, and service providers to translatecomplex customs and regulatory requirements into practical guidance, supported by accurate productand trade data. The role contributes to continuous improvement of compliance processes, supportsstrategic initiatives, and helps ensure Trek’s global supply chain operates in compliance with traderegulations.
Position Responsibilities:• Support daily trade compliance operations in collaboration with external brokers, serviceproviders and internal stakeholders• Develop, implement, and maintain standard operating procedures to ensure compliant importand export processes.• Analyze product data to evaluate and support customs and regulatory reportingrequirements.• Interpret and apply the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) and other applicable tariffschedules, duties and partner government agency requirements to support Trek’s import andexport activities.• Derermine eligibility for preferential trade agreement treatment through analysis of rules oforigin, bills of materials, and manufacturing processes.• Advise on country of origin determinations, marking requirements, and customs valuationprinciples.• Engage cross-functionally and with suppliers and vendors to collect, validate, and managecritical trade data.• Contribute to compliance process improvements and strategic initiatives.• Other projects and tasks as assigned.
Position Requirements:• Bachelor’s degree in international business, supply chain, or related field.• 5+ years of experience in U.S. trade/customs compliance in a corporate setting.• U.S. Customs broker license required.• Experience in the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) system.• Proficiency in Power BI, SharePoint, and Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook,Teams) is required, Experience with e2Open, Atlassian, Oracle (JD Edwards) and Descartescustoms software is preferred.• Demonstrated ability to work cross-functionally and communicate effectively with diversestakeholders.• Self-motivated with a strong work ethic; accepts accountability and responsibility for actions.
