Trades 2 - HVAC Mechanic

This position works in the Lands and Facilities organizational unit. This is skilled shop and field work at the journeyperson level performing the inspection, maintenance and repair of heating, ventilating, air conditioning and related systems in various municipal buildings. An incumbent carries out a variety of maintenance tasks, identifies malfunctions and repair requirements, troubleshoots equipment, performs repair work, and identifies the need for more extensive repairs. An incumbent also coordinates and monitors repairs performed by contractors and develops and coordinates preventive maintenance programs. An incumbent exercises considerable independent judgement and action in determining the cause of issues, after receiving oral instructions or a written work order setting forth a complaint in general terms.
