Job Description
- Using hand signals, paddle, and direction signs to direct traffic around road construction sites.
- Communicate with other flaggers using hand-held radios to direct two-way radio traffic onto a single lane.
- Inform the construction crew of any traffic issues that may affect their safety.
- Appropriately positioning warning and detour signs around construction sites.
- Setting up advanced warning signs, barricades, and traffic cones along construction sites to cordon off work zones.
- Assist in removing all signs, barricades, and traffic cones upon completion of construction work.
- Assisting the construction crew in the removal of debris and hazardous materials.
- Attend regularly scheduled safety team meeting prior to work.
Qualifications
- Driving required role, must have a valid WA driver’s license.
- Ability to stand for 8-12 hours a day and lift 40-70 lbs.
- Willingness to work in various weather conditions and traffic settings.
- Experience driving. Must pass pre-employment screenings, including background check, drug test and MVR as this is a safety sensitive role.
- Must have Washington State flagger certification or be able to obtain one.
