Your future role
Take on a new challenge and apply your operational expertise in a cutting-edge field. You’ll work alongside collaborative and dedicated teammates.
You'll play a critical role in ensuring the safe and efficient movement of locomotives within the depot and contribute to the seamless operations of our transport systems. Day-to-day, you’ll work closely with teams across the business (, pointsmen, loco operators, mainline drivers), oversee yard operations, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards, and much more.
You’ll specifically take care of locomotive reception and dispatch, as well as shunting operations and maintaining track fitness, but also ensure proper documentation and reporting of any abnormalities.
We’ll look to you for:
Overseeing the operations yard and assigning duties to workers (Pointsmen & Loco operators)
Making arrangements for the reception and dispatch of locomotives after ensuring points are correctly set, locked, and the line is clear
Ensuring track fitness for safe traffic movement
Performing shunting operations safely and efficiently
Coordinating placement/removal of locomotives on the under-floor wheel lathe machine for wheel re-profiling
Managing locomotive maneuvering through the wash plant for washing
Handling the handing over and taking over of locomotives with mainline drivers
Checking locomotives properly before handing over or taking over
Maintaining proper records and reporting abnormalities in locomotives
Respecting EHS rules and work-related processes

Diploma/Degree in any field from a recognized university (Regular Course)
Experience working in metro depots or railway sidings (preferably a minimum of 10 years for diploma holders or 6 years for degree holders)
Working knowledge of quality, health, and safety standards and systems
Proficiency in English and Hindi
IT skills, including MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
Flexible and adaptable – able to embrace new ideas and approaches
Conscientious – meeting proposed deadlines
Team player – supporting and collaborating with team members
