Traffic Signal Engineering Technologist

Role overview

The Traffic Signal Engineering Technologist will be stationed at the Traffic Operations Centre and play a key role in monitoring, managing, and responding to traffic signal-related service requests. These requests may arise from field system issues, resident complaints, or congestion management needs. The analyst will ensure timely resolution and maintain smooth traffic flow across the city’s signal network.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor traffic signal systems and respond to alerts or service requests.
• Review thoroughly and familiarize themselves with all SOPs and City Policy.
• Perform preliminary analysis and reassignment of ALL received service requests during their shift.
• Coordinate with field crews, public (complainant) and internal teams to resolve signal malfunctions. Work collaboratively with City staff to address Service Requests.
