Your impact

Jacobs is seeking a highly skilled Traffic Signal Technician to support traffic signal and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) operations throughout the Southeast Georgia region. This role is ideal for candidates with hands-on experience in traffic signal systems, field troubleshooting, and traffic signal cabinets. You will work alongside engineers and field teams to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable traffic operations.

What you will do

  • Install, maintain, and troubleshoot traffic signal and ITS field equipment including controllers, cabinets, detection systems, and communication devices.
  • Perform ground-level traffic signal cabinet preventive maintenance, field inspections, traffic signal programming tests
  • Conduct field surveys, equipment audits, and respond to citizen complaints regarding signal operations
  • Support fiber optic and wireless communication systems used in traffic signal networks
  • Maintain accurate documentation of field activities, equipment status, and timing changes using Microsoft Office tools
  • Read and interpret traffic signal and ITS, job specifications, and electrical schematics
  • Ensure compliance with IMSA Work Zone Safety standards and traffic control protocols
  • Drive company leased vehicles to job sites and maintain safe work practices in active roadways
  • Train and mentor junior technicians in traffic signal systems and field operations
  • Work independently and in teams to build and maintain positive client relationships
  • Here's what you'll need
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • IMSA Work Zone Safety Certification or ability to obtain within six months
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Field Technician Level I or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • 4+ years of experience in traffic signal fieldwork
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Valid State driver’s license and ability to drive company vehicles
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ideally, You'll Also Have

  • 7+ years of experience in traffic signal and ITS field maintenance
  • Experience with traffic signal software systems such as MaxTime
  • Ability to read and interpret plans, surveys, and job specifications
  • Ability to use electrical testing equipment such as a multimeter
  • IMSA Traffic Signal Field Technician Level II or ability to obtain within 12 months
  • Experience supporting large-scale signal timing programs
  • Posted Salary Range: Minimum 64,400.00 Posted Salary Range: Upper 102,700.00

    The base salary range for this position is $64,400.00 to $102,700.00; though will be paid hourly based on hours worked. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
