Transmission Designer

Role: Transmission Designer

Responsibilities:

• Transmission design, including belt and chain drives as well as gearboxes.
• Gearbox and drive systems requirements definition, layout preparation and and design flow
• Initiate, lead, coordinate, review and release all team deliverables, including component and assembly drawings, RFI/RFQ, DFMEA, SOP and other design documentation.
• Work cross functionally with other teams in engineering as well as sourcing, program and manufacturing to align requirements and delivery and ensure product quality.
• Participate in testing and validation of propulsion systems and components and propose product improvement based on test results.
• Continuously improve existing designs and processes based on feedback, quality data and results from CAE and testing.

Skills:

• Solid knowledge and experience in automotive transmission design.
• Strong fundamentals on Mechanical engineering & drawings and strength of materials.
• Strong knowledge on geometric dimensioning & tolerancing, stackup analysis.
• Experience with manufacturing processes for Gears, shafts, casings
• Proficiency in CAD software such as NX or CATIA will be a merit
• Preferred: Experience with vehicle systems engineering principles and practices.
• Preferred: Experience with Gears and Bearing Simulation software such as ROMAX, MASTA or Kiss-soft.
• Experience range of 3-6 years.
