Job Description

We’re seeking a Transmission Engineer to join our growing Transmission & Distribution team in the Southeast region. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-voltage overhead transmission line projects ranging from 69kV to 500kV. You’ll be part of a team that designs and delivers critical infrastructure across the region, with potential to grow into a leadership position.


Key Responsibilities


  • Perform engineering design for overhead transmission lines, including structure analysis, line routing, and conductor selection




  • Develop PLS-CADD models, sag-tension calculations, loading trees, blowout and swing angle analyses




  • Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates for high-voltage overhead transmission projects




  • Select hardware and materials; prepare technical specifications for procurement and installation




  • Conduct clearance studies and structure spotting based on design criteria and regulatory requirements




  • Support and mentor junior engineers and technical staff




  • Interface with clients and participate in project meetings as needed




  • Assist with quality reviews and contribute to project delivery best practices




  • Perform other related duties as assigned


    • Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an ABET-accredited program required




  • Minimum 3 years of experience in overhead transmission line design; experience with 69kV to 500kV preferred




  • Experience with PLS-CADD and related tools (PLS-POLE, TOWER) strongly preferred




  • EIT certification required; PE license preferred or willingness to obtain




  • Strong understanding of transmission line routing, structure design, and industry standards




  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate across disciplines and teams




  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills




  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite and other common engineering tools
