Position Title: Transmission Foreman

Location: DFW Metroplex, TX (On-site)
Employment Type: Full-Time
Salary: $43.00 - $60.00 hourly

Role Overview

The Transmission Foreman directs field crews in the construction, repair, and maintenance of high-voltage transmission systems. This role ensures all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with company and regulatory standards. Serving as the link between project management and field teams, the Foreman manages daily planning, crew coordination, equipment use, and safety practices. Strong leadership is essential mentoring less-experienced line workers and fostering teamwork and accountability on site.

Core Responsibilities

  • Plan and supervise construction, maintenance, and repair of energized and de-energized transmission lines
  • Extensive experience in transmission line construction and maintenance
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • A proven record of safety compliance and crew productivity
  • The ability to stay composed and decisive in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
  • Lead daily crew activities, assign work, and monitor productivity and safety compliance
  • Conduct tailgate safety briefings and enforce all company and OSHA safety standards
  • Direct work on stringing, sagging, reconductoring, jumpers, insulators, anchors, and pole/tower construction
  • Oversee troubleshooting and repair of system faults, grounding, phasing, and clearance procedures
  • Ensure tools, vehicles, and heavy equipment are operated and maintained safely
  • Review project drawings, work orders, and specifications; ensure accurate execution of scope
  • Travel as needed to support regional projects and storm restoration response
  • Outdoor field work in varying weather conditions
  • Frequent climbing and work at significant heights
  • Exposure to energized electrical systems and hazardous environments
  • Extended hours, storm duty, and emergency call-outs as required

Required Background

  • Minimum 510 years of experience in transmission line construction and maintenance (69kV345kV)
  • At least 3 years of direct supervisory experience leading line crews
  • Strong knowledge of induced voltage, grounding, minimum approach distances, and clearance/tagging procedures
  • Demonstrated ability to perform and direct hot-stick and energized transmission work
  • Valid drivers license and CDL (or ability to obtain within 60 days)
  • OSHA, CPR/First Aid, bucket/pole rescue certifications
  • Ability to lift 50+ lbs, climb poles/towers, and work at heights in all weather conditions
  • Flexibility to travel, relocate temporarily, and work overtime, nights, weekends, and holidays as required
  • Experience with lattice tower and steel pole transmission projects at 138kV345kV
  • Proven track record of storm restoration leadership and rapid deployment capability
  • Familiarity with substation environments and transmission-to-substation coordination
  • Strong mentoring background, having trained apprentices, B and C linemen
  • Competence in project reporting, crew scheduling, and resource allocation
