Your impact

We’re seeking a seasoned Transportation Planning Practice Lead to drive strategic growth across the Southeast region, with a focus on Georgia and Florida. This role is ideal for professionals with a strong background in public sector planning, regional transportation strategy, and community-focused development. You’ll collaborate with senior leadership to shape the future of mobility and infrastructure across diverse urban and regional contexts. 

As a leader, you will

  • Lead strategic transportation planning initiatives across the Southeast
  • Build, mentor, and manage a multidisciplinary team of planners and engineers
  • Cultivate relationships with key transportation agencies—especially GDOT, FDOT, and regional MPOs
  • Oversee planning services including corridor studies, transit planning, multimodal integration, and stakeholder engagement
  • Drive business development efforts, including strategy, proposal development, positioning, and contract negotiations
  • You’ll also serve as a key connector between our Market Solution Leaders, Southeast Sales Leaders, and Transportation Business Unit teams to ensure alignment and excellence in project delivery.

    Here's what you'll need
  • Bachelor’s degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Transportation Engineering, or a related discipline
  • Professional licensure or certification in a transportation-related field (e.g., AICP, PE, or PMP)
  • Proven understanding of transportation planning processes, including corridor studies, multimodal planning, and stakeholder engagement
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to convey complex ideas to diverse audiences
  • Demonstrated initiative and ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Project management experience, including leading multidisciplinary teams and managing budgets and schedules
  • Proven ability to build and maintain client relationships, lead strategic pursuits, and win new work
  • Willingness to travel throughout the Southeast region (up to 30%) to engage with clients, project teams, and regional offices
  • Ideally, you will also have

  • Master’s degree in Urban Planning, Transportation Engineering, or a related field
  • 15+ years of experience in transportation planning, ideally with public sector leadership
  • Strong professional network with Southeast transportation agencies, especially GDOT, FDOT, and regional MPOs
  • Experience navigating federal, state, and local planning processes and funding programs
  • Familiarity with emerging trends in transportation, including equity, sustainability, smart mobility, and context-sensitive design
  • Experience mentoring junior staff and contributing to practice growth and innovation
  • Posted Salary Range: Minimum 155,800.00 Posted Salary Range: Upper 245,000.00

    The base salary range for this position is $155,800.00 to $245,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
