Cardiovascular Technologist Location: Portland, OR Agency: Ambition 24Hours Pay: Competitive weekly pay (inquire for details) Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 7 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Cardiovascular Technologist (FT, Cath Lab) Location: Portland, OR Job Type: Full-time, Onsite Join a collaborative cardiac and vascular team as a Cardiovascular Technologist in a busy cath lab environment. You will assist credentialed providers with diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures while ensuring safe, high-quality patient care. Job Overview Assist providers with all diagnostic, interventional, and therapeutic procedures in cardiac and vascular lab settings, including cath lab and electrophysiology procedures as applicable. Function as a scrub assistant and/or monitor/recorder during cardiology and interventional radiology studies. Work under the direct supervision of a credentialed provider in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment focused on patient safety and quality outcomes. Key Responsibilities Prepare, position, and educate patients for invasive cardiovascular procedures, ensuring comfort and adherence to sterile technique and infection-control standards. Serve as scrub technologist for cardiac catheterization and related vascular procedures, handling instruments, catheters, wires, and devices. Monitor and record patient hemodynamics, interpret waveforms, and document procedural events accurately in real time. Recognize and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias, promptly communicating changes to the physician and care team. Perform hemodynamic calculations and assessments to support diagnosis and treatment of heart and vascular disease. Assist with cardiovascular tests and related imaging as directed, including operation of cath lab equipment and point-of-care testing. Maintain procedure room readiness, including equipment checks, supplies, and radiation safety practices. Participate in on-call rotation and respond to emergent cases within a thirty (30) minute callback requirement. Required Qualifications Minimum of 1 2 years of recent experience in a cardiovascular, cath lab, or closely related invasive cardiovascular setting. Successful completion of an accredited invasive cardiovascular technologist program, or two (2) years of education in an allied health science (such as nursing, respiratory therapy, or radiologic technology). Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS). Ability to obtain at least one of the following within 12 months of hire (if not already held): Registered Cardiac Electrophysiology Specialist (RCES), or American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Vascular Interventional Radiography, or ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography, or Registered Cardiovascular Invasive Specialist (RCIS). Ability to recognize and interpret cardiac dysrhythmias and respond appropriately. Analytical skills to monitor and assess patient condition and perform hemodynamic calculations. Ability to meet a 30-minute callback requirement when assigned on-call duty. Preferred Qualifications Five (5) years of recent interventional cath lab experience. Current RCIS for cardiovascular labs and/or current RCES for electrophysiology labs. Experience in a high-volume cardiac catheterization or interventional vascular lab. Education Completion of an accredited invasive cardiovascular technologist training program, or equivalent allied health education (e.g., nursing, respiratory therapy, radiologic technology). Post-primary credentials (RCIS, RCES, ARRT Cardiac or Vascular Interventional) within 12 months of hire if not already obtained. Compensation and Benefits Salary range: 95,000USD 120,000 USD Full-time role with comprehensive benefits (medical, dental, retirement, paid time off).
