Medical Social Worker Location: Burbank, CA Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,400 per week Shift Information: Days - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/16/2026 About the Position Job Title: Social Worker Profession: Social Services Specialty: MSW (Masters of Social Work) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Day 5x8-Hour Hours per Shift: 08:00 - 16:30 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of acute medical social work experience, performing both social work and discharge planning License: CA state license required. Pending license accepted, but must be licensed upon start date Certifications: MSW, LCSW either/or MSW Must-Have: - Knowledge of drug and alcohol abuse treatment options - Experience working with patients experiencing homelessness, and mental health crises - Ability to organize and participate in family meetings - Skills in developing plans of care to meet patient and caregiver needs - Collaborative care and care coordination experience - Familiarity with needs assessment and ordering durable medical equipment Description: This position involves providing social work services in an acute care environment. The social worker will manage a caseload of up to 25 patients. The role includes performing discharge planning and collaborating with interdisciplinary teams. Participation in care conference activities is required. The social worker will also be involved in the development of treatment plans. Weekend coverage is typically one full weekend every four weeks, subject to department needs. Providers are expected to float between all facilities within the given state. Providers must commit to working three of the five major holidays. References from supervisory roles covering the last three years of employment are required.
