Radiation Therapist Location: Denver, CO Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,688 per week Shift Information: Rotating - 5 days x 8 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Job Title: Clienttion Therapist Profession: Clienttion Therapist Specialty: - Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Rotating Hours per Shift: 8 hours for 40 hours/week and 9 hours for 36 hours/week Experience: Minimum years of experience required not specified License: Current license in state of practice is required if applicable Certifications: BLS - American Heart Association, ARRT, RT(T) certifications in radiation therapy Must-Have: Graduation from an accredited radiation therapy program is required Description: The Clienttion Therapist is responsible for the administration of ionizing radiation for therapeutic purposes in accordance with the prescription of the Clienttion Oncologist. They are accountable for the simulation of patients in preparation for radiation therapy, including basic patient care and education. The therapist checks the prescription, diagnosis, chart, and patient identification. They explain procedures to patients, reinforcing the Clienttion Oncologist and/or nurses' instructions regarding reactions to the treatment and their care. They prepare the room and equipment for patients according to the prescription, including immobilization devices, blocks, and field sizes. The therapist transfers patients as needed. They verify the treatment methods and beam energy in the treatment chart, noting any prescribed adjustments. Documentation includes treatment methods, cumulative dose, site-specific doses, treatment parameters, instructions, diagrams, photos, and all billing information. The therapist performs treatment simulations and all required procedures, including cerrobend block fabrication. They develop x-rays and port films as needed and file them accordingly. Observation and inquiry of any unusual reactions or events from the patient is part of their responsibilities. They assist in maintaining order and cleanliness in the unit and maintain appropriate stock levels. Daily, progress, and discharge documentation is completed according to departmental standards. Accurate documentation of productivity information is required. The therapist participates in quality and patient safety initiatives. They identify potential areas for improvement, including processes that could be streamlined or revised to enhance patient satisfaction. Potential safety hazards that could create problems for patients and/or staff are identified, and appropriate actions are taken. Documentation of patient plans of care, tests, and examination results in the medical record is required as directed by the provider. Non-routine issues, questions, and concerns are escalated to the practice manager or healthcare provider. The therapist ensures that safety checklists and quality controls are completed as required. They promote the mission, vision, and values of the organization and abide by service behavior standards. Other duties as assigned are performed as necessary.
