Must have 3-5 years of experience if Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT). Okay with first-time travelers. If covering NICU, knowledge of NAVA (naturally adjusted ventilatory assist) on specific vents is required. Description: The position includes managing all respiratory therapy equipment and treatments. You will perform transport and arterial blood gas sampling. EKGs are not part of the job duties. Travelers will only assist with intubation. A hospitalist and intensivist are in-house 24/7. There is a lead therapist on each shift who covers emergency department, daily staffing, and acts as a resource. The manager and supervisor are available during the day. You will not be the only respiratory therapist in-house; typically, there are 15-20 on days and 10-12 on nights. You will work with various respiratory therapy equipment including adult and pediatric ventilators, BiPAPs, and high-flow oxygen devices. Scheduling is managed by a scheduler, and every effort will be made to accommodate shift preferences though it cannot be guaranteed. You will be required to work every other weekend and during holidays if scheduled. Floating to different facilities may be necessary. Dress code is any color scrubs as long as they are clean and professional. Unit-specific orientation typically requires 2-3 shifts. The facility enforces a radius rule of 50 miles for candidates.
