Job Requirements

  • Education Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Nursing or equivalent
  • Certifications Requirements: BLS (Basic Life Support), ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support), CALE (if applicable), State Nursing License
  • Experience Requirements: Minimum of 2 years of recent CVOR and OR nursing experience, with strong knowledge of cardiovascular surgical procedures
  • Other Requirements: Ability to float between units as needed, excellent communication skills, physical ability to stand for long periods, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide specialized cardiovascular surgical nursing care, including pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative patient management
  • Assist with preparing operating rooms and surgical equipment for cardiovascular procedures in accordance with safety protocols
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and surgical team members to ensure smooth and efficient procedures
  • Monitor patient vitals and responses during surgery, ensuring patient safety and optimal outcomes
  • Document all patient care activities accurately and thoroughly in the electronic medical record systems
