Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead field operations on large-scale, mission-critical data center construction projects across the U.S. This role is responsible for day-to-day site execution, safety, schedule adherence, and coordination of all trades, with a strong emphasis on MEP-intensive construction and fast-paced delivery environments.
This position requires extensive travel and is ideal for a Superintendent who thrives in complex, high-visibility projects and takes ownership of field performance from mobilization through turnover.
Key Responsibilities
Lead all on-site construction activities for data center projects, including civil, structural, architectural, and MEP scopes
Enforce site safety standards, company policies, and project-specific safety plans
Manage and coordinate subcontractors with a strong focus on mechanical, electrical, fire protection, and controls
Drive the project schedule, including pull planning, look-ahead schedules, and daily work planning
Coordinate with Project Managers and Assistant Project Managers to align field execution with cost, schedule, and procurement
Oversee quality control, inspections, testing, and commissioning readiness
Maintain accurate daily reports, manpower logs, and progress tracking
Lead site logistics planning, site access, laydown areas, and material flow
Participate in owner, design team, and subcontractor meetings
Support turnover, commissioning activities, and closeout documentation
Represent the company professionally with clients, vendors, and inspectors
Required Qualifications
7+ years of experience as a Superintendent on large commercial or industrial construction projects
Direct experience on data centers, mission-critical, or highly MEP-driven projects strongly preferred
Strong understanding of:
Electrical distribution systems
Mechanical systems (cooling plants, CRAHs/CRACs, piping)
Commissioning processes
Proven ability to manage aggressive schedules and multiple subcontractors
OSHA 30 (or willingness to obtain)
Willingness and ability to travel extensively for project assignments
Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills
Preferred Experience
Prior experience on hyperscale or colocation data centers
Experience working on projects with live campus environments
Familiarity with pull planning, short-interval scheduling, and lean construction principles
Experience coordinating owner-furnished equipment and vendor installations
Background working with repeat clients and high-expectation stakeholders
