Job Description
1) Planning & Controls
aDevelop look-ahead (1/2/4-week) plans, ring/shift targets, resource leveling, and constraint removal.
bSequence activities across launching/retrieval shafts, TBM drives, cross-passages, and post-tunnel works.
cChair daily DPR and weekly progress reviews; track earned value (planned vs actual rings, shaft milestones).
2) TBM Civil Execution
aOversee segment logistics (yard → shaft → tunnel buffer → erector); minimize damage and handling risks.
bEnsure ring-build excellence: correct segment type/taper, gasket integrity, dowels/bolts, torque, offsets & steps within ITP tolerances.
cControl annulus grouting
dCoordinate alignment corrections with Survey
eManage interface civil tasks: starter/stopping blocks, cradle beams, thrust frame supports, muck bay slabs, sealing at reception.
3) Shafts & Surface Works
aPlan cross-passage enabling works (breakout segments, pre-support, waterproofing interfaces), and post-tunnel finishing.
4) Safety, Health & Environment (SHE)
aEnforce confined space and pressurized system safety; align with LOTO around rotating equipment and high-pressure grout lines.
bDrive zero-harm culture: permits-to-work, lifting plans, emergency egress, housekeeping, spill response.
cLead incident investigations; implement corrective/preventive actions
5) Quality Assurance / Compliance
aEnsure adherence to ITPs, Method Statements, RA, and design drawings; manage NCR closure.
bApprove batching/grouting records, ring build checklists, segment repair logs, post-grout leak rectification.
cOwn as-built integrity; offsets/steps, grout volumes, settlement observations integrated with geotechnical inputs.
6) Interface Management
aCoordinate closely with TBM Pilot, Survey Lead, Mechanical/Electrical, Slurry treatment plant Engineer, and Logistics/Stores for uninterrupted advance.
bcoordinate with Client/PMC, OEMs (TBM manufacturer, guidance system), and third-party utilities for approvals
7) Resourcing & Leadership
aBuild and lead civil team
bDrive competence: onboarding, SOP training (ring build/grouting/lifting), skill matrix, and shift coverage.
cOptimize manpower and plant utilization; prepare requisitions for segments, grout consumables, epoxy kits, and spares.
8) Risk & Change Management
aIdentify and mitigate risks: geological changes, water ingress, settlement sensitivities, segment supply constraints.
bManage design changes/variations, claim documentation, and commercial impacts (productivity losses, disruptions).
