Job Summary
The Head of SME Sales will be responsible for defining and executing the sales strategy to maximize advertising and media sales to small and medium-sized enterprises, with a specific focus on penetrating and growing market share in up-country/emerging regions. This role requires a strong leader with an entrepreneurial mindset, deep market knowledge, and the ability to build and motivate high-performing regional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning & Execution: Develop and implement a comprehensive sales strategy for the SME segment, with clear action plans for growth in up-country and regional markets.
- Revenue Growth & P&L Ownership: Take responsibility for top-line and bottom-line revenue for the SME division, ensuring profitability and optimal resource allocation.
- Market Expansion (Up-Country Focus): Identify, research, and penetrate new markets and customer segments within up-country territories. Develop tailored approaches that address specific regional needs and cultural nuances.
- Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong, long-term relationships with key SME clients, advertising agencies, and local business associations to secure long-term commitments and partnerships.
- Market Analysis & Reporting: Conduct ongoing market research and competitor analysis to stay ahead of industry trends. Provide regular, data-driven sales forecasts and performance reports to senior management.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience: 10+ years of proven experience in sales, with at least 4-5 years in a leadership role, preferably within the media/advertising industry and the SME segment. Experience in managing sales in diverse geographical/up-country markets is highly advantageous.
- Education: MBA Marketing
- Skills: Strong leadership, strategic thinking, negotiation, presentation, and problem-solving skills.
- Market Knowledge: Deep understanding of the media landscape, advertising platforms, and the specific needs/behavior of SME customers.
- Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing market dynamics and a fast-paced environment, with a willingness to travel extensively to regional markets.
- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, in English and local languages, for effective communication with diverse stakeholders.
