Ubuntu Linux Kernel Engineer - Silicon Enablement

Join the Canonical Kernel Team as an Ubuntu Linux Kernel Engineer focused on silicon enablement. We aim to expand support for System On Chip (SoC) platforms from NVIDIA, Xilinx, MediaTek, Qualcomm and others, delivering high‑performance, silicon‑optimised firmware to our global user base.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate regularly with a globally distributed team.
  • Work closely with silicon vendor partners to integrate their platform support into the Ubuntu Linux kernel.
  • Diagnose and resolve kernel issues reported by partners, customers, community members and your own testing.
  • Take responsibility for delivering distinct silicon‑optimised variants of the Ubuntu Linux kernel worldwide.
  • Improve tooling and automation for kernel delivery and testing.
  • Submit, review and apply kernel patches, working with internal and external maintainers.
