Job Description

This ultrasound technologist role offers the opportunity to apply your vascular ultrasound expertise within a Level 3 Trauma hospital setting, performing diagnostic imaging on diverse patient cases including cancer, stroke, and cardiac conditions. The position involves a contract assignment based in Gastonia, NC, with shifts primarily overnight from 7:00 p.m. to 7:00 a.m. You will float between the main hospital and an outpatient advanced imaging center, gaining experience with leading ultrasound equipment such as Siemens Sequoia and P2000.

Qualifications & Desired Experience:

  • Minimum of 1 year of ultrasound technologist experience required, with vascular ultrasound proficiency
  • Current BLS certification and national credential via ARDMS or ARRT (no specific anatomy certification required)
  • NC state licensure is not mandatory
  • Demonstrated ability to learn quickly and multitask efficiently in a fast-paced clinical environment
  • Strong communication and professionalism in patient care

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general and vascular ultrasound imaging using advanced diagnostic equipment
  • Support diagnostic needs on both inpatient and outpatient units, including trauma and stroke cases
  • Maintain patient safety and comfort while producing high-quality ultrasound examinations
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and assist radiology students during clinical rotations as needed
  • Participate in weekend and holiday shifts with a flexible schedule; approximately 75% holiday coverage expected
  • Adjust work location between hospital and outpatient imaging center as assigned
