Your Opportunity:

Unit 2 at the Alberta Children’s Hospital is a 26-bed combined medical/surgical unit. We have 8 hour and 12 hours shifts and a RN/LPN staff mix of approximately 70% RN and 30% LPN. We care for patients who have conditions pertaining to 3 primary areas: cardiac, respiratory, and infant GI surgery. We are a high intensity and fast paced unit with a patient population that have very complex medical conditions. Our patients typically have multiple organ systems involved, are primarily under 2 years of age, and have very long hospital admissions with frequent re-admissions. Many of our patients require higher technology to support their care which may include a tracheostomy, +/- a ventilator, CPAP/ BiPAP machines, NP tubes, chest tubes, high flow oxygen therapy, and cardiorespiratory monitoring.
