About the Role:
This role delivers high‑quality underwriting across renewals, new business, and policy adjustments. You’ll work with brokers and internal partners to apply product, pricing, and portfolio strategies that support Commercial Insurance performance. Your work helps create excellent customer and intermediary experiences.
What You’ll Do:
Assess and underwrite Motor Fleet risks by applying underwriting guidelines, pricing approaches, and delegated authority to deliver quality outcomes for customers and the businessPartner with brokers to understand customer needs, provide clear guidance, and negotiate terms that align with risk appetite and strategyCollaborate with Distribution, Product, Claims, and Risk Engineering teams to support growth, customer retention, and process improvementUse technical knowledge and underwriting tools to analyse risk trends, identify exposures, and recommend solutions that support improved risk outcomesPrepare accurate quotes, documentation, and recommendations, ensuring compliance with underwriting governance and industry expectationsIdentify opportunities to streamline processes, improve consistency, and share insights that strengthen team capability and service delivery. What You’ll Bring:
Experience in underwriting within commercial or fleet insurance, applying product knowledge to assess risks and make informed decisionsAbility to build strong relationships with brokers and internal partners by communicating clearly and adapting your style to your audienceSkill in analysing claims trends, interpreting data, and using insights to inform underwriting recommendationsAwareness of regulatory environments and ability to stay current on market trends, sharing knowledge with colleagues where helpfulComfortable adapting to change with team support and working with clear expectations, structured processes, and shared goals.
