**Role description**
**The opportunity**
Supersonic is looking for a seasoned and hands-on Unity Tech Lead to drive technical excellence across our mobile gaming organization. This is a highly strategic role at the intersection of game development, data & analytics, live-ops, tooling, and ML-driven systems.
You will act as a technical authority and multiplier—setting direction, raising engineering standards, and enabling teams to build scalable, high-quality, and high-performing games using Unity as the core platform.
+ Play a key role in shaping a growing gaming division, with real influence on strategy, culture, and player experience.
+ Work at the intersection of game development, data, ML, graphics, and tooling, solving complex, high-impact problems.
+ Collaborate with top-tier talent across engineering, design, analytics, and operations in a fast-moving, supportive environment.
**What you'll be doing**
+ Lead and influence technical decisions across multiple engineering teams and studios, spanning game development, internal tools, live-ops, and operational systems.
+ Partner closely with engineering managers and developers to execute the technical vision and roadmap for Supersonic’s games portfolio, ensuring high-quality visuals, performant code, and engaging player experiences on mobile.
+ Oversee client analytics and configuration infrastructure: build and maintain reliable, scalable systems that feed game design, live-ops, user-engagement, monetization, and business decisions.
+ Work with machine learning and data science teams to design and operationalize models for player behavior prediction, personalization, content generation, and monetization optimization.
+ Champion internal tooling and operational excellence—from CI/CD pipelines and build systems to live-ops dashboards, monitoring/observability, and developer productivity tools.
+ Collaborate deeply with product, design, art, engineering, operations, marketing, and business teams to align on goals, metrics, and delivery.
+ Mentor senior and mid-level engineers, contribute to hiring and growth programs, and help build a strong, scalable engineering culture with high standards.
+ Define and track KPIs across game performance, live-ops health, retention and monetization, platform stability, tooling adoption, and team productivity.
+ Stay on top of trends in Unity, real-time 3D/graphics, mobile performance, ML/AI in games, and data-driven live-ops—and translate them into actionable strategy.
**What we're looking for**
+ 6+ years of Unity game development experience, with a proven track record of shipping production mobile games and leading technical initiatives.
+ Experience leading technical direction for one or more teams, including architectural decisions and long-term platform vision.
+ Deep expertise in Unity and C#, including real-time 3D rendering, performance optimization, and mobile platforms.
+ Proven ability to design and scale internal tooling and operational systems (build/deploy, live-ops tooling, test automations, monitoring, observability, SDKs).
+ Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to influence senior stakeholders and translate technical strategy to non-technical audiences.
+ Strong strategic and product mindset—able to evaluate trade-offs, prioritize effectively, and drive impact at scale.
+ Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment, leading teams through growth and change.
**You might also have**
+ Experience with backend services for live or multiplayer games, cloud infrastructure, and data warehouses (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery).
+ Experience with real-time analytics, A/B testing frameworks, or experimentation platforms.
+ Hands-on experience applying machine learning or data science in games (player modeling, recommendations, personalization, content generation).
