The Broward County Board of County Commissioners is seeking qualified candidates for Trainee for UTILITIES MECHANIC (PT-19) - (WWS Operations Division).


General Description This Utilities Mechanic - Trainee position is a unique opportunity to gain valuable, paid experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of water/wastewater systems, lift stations and related mechanical equipment. Work involves participating in a variety of tasks in the construction and maintenance of water and wastewater mains, pumping and treatment facilities. The Trainee learns to install water meters, hydrants, lay pipe, repair leaks and operate various types of equipment; and remove, repair and install a variety of equipment, machinery and control systems in water and wastewater treatment plants and lift stations.
