Job Description – Senior Manager (Mechanical)

Location: Narmada Puram, Bhopal

Role Summary
The Senior Manager – Utilities & Mechanical Projects is responsible for end-to-end engineering, project execution, and reliable operation of all mechanical utility systems supporting solar cell manufacturing operations. The role ensures continuous, safe, compliant, and cost-effective utility supply aligned with process requirements, EHS standards, and business objectives.
Key Responsibilities

Engineering & Design
• Lead basic, FEED, and detailed engineering for mechanical utilities including HVAC & cleanroom systems, chilled water plants, cooling towers, CDA, process air, nitrogen, DI/UPW, RO, ETP/STP/ZLD, process exhaust and abatement systems.
• Review and approve design calculations, P&IDs, layouts, equipment sizing, redundancy philosophy, BOQs, RFQs, and technical specifications.
• Coordinate with process and tool vendors to finalize utility hook-up requirements.

Project Execution
• Manage greenfield and brownfield utility projects from concept to commissioning.
• Coordinate with EPCs, consultants, OEMs, contractors, and internal stakeholders.
• Ensure projects are delivered within approved timelines, cost, and quality standards.
• Oversee installation, testing, commissioning, and handover of utility systems.

Operations & Reliability
• Ensure uninterrupted 24x7 availability of utilities for manufacturing operations.
• Establish SOPs, O&M manuals, and preventive maintenance programs.
• Drive reliability improvement, root cause analysis, and corrective actions for utility failures.

Energy, Water & Cost Optimization
• Lead initiatives for energy efficiency, water conservation, and operating cost optimization.
• Monitor and control utility consumption KPIs and budgets.

EHS & Compliance
• Ensure compliance with statutory, environmental, and safety regulations.
People & Vendor Management
• Lead and develop utility engineering and operations teams.
• Manage vendors, service partners, and AMC contracts.
• Coordinate with cross-functional teams including Process, Electrical, QA, and EHS.

Qualification & Experience
• BE / BTech/Diploma in Mechanical/Chemical Engineering.
• 14–20 years of experience in utility engineering, projects, and operations
• Prior experience in solar cell, semiconductor, electronics, or cleanroom manufacturing environments preferred
