Truck Driver/Vac Truck Operator
Location: Barrow Island
Division: Drilling – Australia
Employment Type: Casual with potential for full time
We are seeking an experienced Vac Truck Operator to support our client’s rig operations across their Drilling Division. This role is essential to maintaining safe, efficient, and compliant rig movements, transportation, and site logistics.
About the Role
As a Truck Operator, you will play a key role in supporting rig operations by transporting rig components, assisting with rig moves, and contributing to on-site logistics. You will be responsible for safe vehicle operation, equipment handling, and routine servicing of fleet assets.
You’ll work closely with our Transport Team Lead, Transport Superintendent, Field Superintendents, Rig Managers and crews, and external partners such as third-party transport and escort companies.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate trucks (single & road train configuration) to transport rig components
- Operate water carts
- Operate Vacuum truck
- Operate loaders for loading/unloading and general rig site logistics
- Conduct routine servicing and preventative maintenance of trucks and trailers
- Participate in safety meetings, training programs, and emergency response (fire team, first aid, medivac)
- Ensure compliance with all QA, HSE and load restraint requirements
- Report unsafe conditions or practices immediately
- Support continuous improvement of departmental QA procedures
- Perform additional duties as directed and undertake reasonable overtime when require
Technical Competencies
- Strong understanding of the transport industry
- Skilled in loading, securing, and transporting heavy equipment
- Loader operations and maintenance experience
- Familiarity with rig operations, equipment and associated hazards
- Knowledge of company HSE policies and incident reporting

Qualifications
- MC Licence
- CPR Fire Awareness
- Senior First Aid
- Front End Loader Ticket
- 4×4 Operate Vehicles in the Field (desired)
- Certificate III in Driving Operations (desired)
- Bus licence (advantageous)
