Roles and Responsibilities

Role: Validation of Battery and BMS

Technical/ Functional:

  • Responsible for validation of cells, battery packs and BMS which is being used in an EV.
  • Responsible for DVP completion of battery pack level, including performance and reliability testing.
  • Responsible for cell level characterisation and DVP of the cell
  • Pack level lifecycle test for ageing characteristics of the battery pack
  • Software level validation of BMS algorithms – functional as well as safety

    • Specific expertise required for functional area:

  • Good understanding of different cell chemistries and actionable knowledge on each of the widely used chemistries
  • Familiar with electric vehicle standards and regulations including AIS, ISO functional safety amongst others.
  • Familiar with testing standards which govern reliability and durability testing
  • Working level understanding of BMS hardware and typical BMS architectures and topologies
  • Working knowledge on software architectures and algorithm validation, can communication etc
  • Hands on understanding of testing equipment normally used in battery and cell validation
