Position Title: Vendor Management Lead

Location: Downtown Toronto – Hybrid

Contract: 6 months

The Vendor Management, Lead will establish and maintain positive, productive, and mutually beneficial relationships between our client and its vendors. You will serve as the primary point of contact for all vendors and play a crucial role in ensuring that the products/services provided by the vendor align with our clients needs and expectations.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Developing and maintaining strong, collaborative relationships with assigned vendors.
  • Acting as the primary point of contact, building rapport and trust to foster a positive working relationship, and ensure effective communication and alignment of goals between vendors.
  • Ensuring that contracts are well-managed, compliant, and aligned with needs.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to negotiate contracts, monitoring contract terms including SLAs, KPIs and ensure compliance with contractual obligations and regulatory requirements.
  • Defining and tracking KPIs and SLAs, analyzing performance data to identify areas for improvement, and tracking financial spend to ensure cost effectiveness and implement enhancements.
  • Ensuring that vendor services align with strategic goals to maximize value.
  • Understanding strategic priorities and communicating them to the vendor, collaborating with the vendor to align offerings with future needs and identifying opportunities for cost saving and process improvements in vendor relationships.
  • Addressing and resolving issues/conflicts that arise during relationship with the vendor. Respond to concerns raised by both and the vendor, work to prevent potential issues and proactively identify solutions and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to resolve conflicts.

  • Payment/fintech knowledge (products, platforms, corporate strategy).
  • Communication and interpersonal skills to articulate ideas and foster positive relationships.
  • Strong negotiation skills, basic understanding of terms and conditions to facilitate effective contract discussions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to assess and improve vendor performance, identify issues, propose solutions, and implement improvements.
  • The capacity to understand strategic goals and align vendor services to support those objectives, long-term planning skills to strategically think about the future of the relationship and anticipate potential challenges.
  • The ability to assist in identifying, assessing, and mitigating risks associated with vendor relationships.
  • The ability to understand relevant regulations and the ability to ensure vendor compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Proven experience analyzing vendor financials, total spend, and optimize the financial aspect of the relationship.
  • Cost-benefit analysis ability to evaluate the value proposition of vendor services in relation to cost incurred.
