Job Description
Pooch is an AI-powered Petcare App built to help Dog & Cat parents. We are currently in process of developing multiple computer vision powered AI models that will be connected to a Vet Trained LLM. These models help parents with key insights to gain awareness of their pet’s current health status and work through logged health data for early risk detection. Therefore, we are currently looking to hire vets who will assist us with the knowledge for training our LLM and computer vision models.
What you’ll do
• Write simple, accurate pet-care guides (dogs & cats): Age, Breed & BCS (Body Condition Score) Wise Common health, grooming behavior & pet care issues. Prevention of those issues, what to do at home, when to see a vet. Age, Breed & BCS (Body Condition Score) Wise nutrition and vaccination schedules.
• Set clear “triage” rules: what’s an emergency, what can wait, and what owners can do safely at home.
• Help train our Vet LLM: provide data & examples, review answers, correct mistakes, and add safety rules so it never gives risky advice.
• Help train our Computer Vision Models:
1. Poop Scan – Gut Health Model: Accurately identify poop type in correspondence to their fecal scores (Royal Canine Dog & Cat Fecal Scoring System) to annotate or verify Poop image datasets. Have a knowledge bank to determine the gut health status and possible nutrition recommendation based on the fecal scores. Set conditions for pattern analysis / early risk detection on continually logged fecal score data
2. Common Symptoms Model: Accurately identify common visible symptoms / conditions in dogs & cats (Eyes, Teeth, Skin). Help in annotating or verifying the symptoms corresponding to each image.
3. Cat Pain- Feline Grimace Score Model: Help in annotating or verifying cat face images with their appropriate FGS score (0-10 from five action units). Have a knowledge bank for possible pain or discomfort reasons (Age & Breed specific).
• Shape the Vet Portal & VAAS: define how online vet consultation works, notes, follow-ups, and when to make in-person vet clinic visits.
• Emergency & safety: create red-flag lists and quick instructions for serious situations.
• Keep commerce safe: approve product/service recommendations (food, meds, grooming) with simple “do/don’t” rules.
• Quality & updates: review content regularly, keep it current, log changes, and follow privacy laws.
• Work with the team: give clear requirements to engineers/designers, review screens, and support marketing with accurate info.
What you need:
• Licensed vet (DVM/BVSc & AH or equivalent) with small-animal (dogs/cats) experience.
• 5–7 years in clinic practice (including triage and preventive care).
• Strong plain-English writing; can explain medical ideas simply.
• Comfortable working with software teams (giving feedback, testing features, using docs/spreadsheets).
Nice to have
• Tele-vet experience or using practice software.
• Experience reviewing or labeling AI/LLM outputs.
• To know Hindi.
• Familiar with standard vet terms/codes (helpful, not required).
