Job Description:

  • Deliver high-quality emergency and critical care to small animals and exotic species during scheduled shifts.
  • Attend daily inpatient rounds at the beginning and end of each shift to ensure continuity of care.
  • Provide medical consultations for emergency cases during both day and night shifts.
  • Conduct thorough physical examinations and implement appropriate diagnostic procedures, including TFAST/AFAST ultrasounds, blood panels, radiographs, endoscopy, and CT imaging.
  • Interpret diagnostic test results accurately to formulate and execute comprehensive treatment plans.
  • Stabilize and treat critically ill patients suffering from trauma, poisoning, and acute medical conditions.
  • Perform emergency surgeries and administer advanced medical therapies as required.
  • Prescribe medications based on clinical assessments and diagnostic findings.
  • Collaborate closely with veterinary technicians, support staff, and specialists across departments to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively and empathetically with pet owners, providing clear explanations of treatment options, prognoses, and follow-up care instructions.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient medical records, including diagnostics, treatment plans, progress notes, and updates.
  • Assist in the seamless transfer of cases between departments and coordinate with external referral clinics when necessary, including preparing discharge summaries and referral updates.
  • Manage a high caseload efficiently while maintaining professionalism and composure in a fast-paced environment.
  • Uphold veterinary ethical standards and comply with the clinic's clinical protocols and guidelines.
  • Engage in continuing professional development to remain current with advancements in emergency veterinary medicine.
  • Provide mentorship and training to ECC team members when needed, fostering a collaborative and learning-focused work environment.

Requirements:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in emergency and critical care veterinary practice.
  • Postgraduate certificate in Emergency and Critical Care (ECC) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency in endoscopy and gastroscopy is an advantage.
  • Must hold a veterinary degree recognized by the Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA) of Singapore.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: Up to $14,000.00 per month
