Veterinary Nurse/ Technician

Responsibilities:

• Safely handle and restrain patients during consultations, examinations, treatments, and procedures.
• Communicate professionally with clients and liaise effectively with referring clinics and veterinarians.
• Assist veterinarians during treatments, medical procedures, and surgeries.
• Perform clinical support tasks including:
• Placement of IV catheters
• Venipuncture (blood draws)
• Urine and fecal sample collection
• Basic in-house laboratory testing and diagnostics
• Prepare consultation rooms and surgical theatres for procedures, ensuring cleanliness and readiness.
• Provide high-quality pre-operative, intra-operative, and post-operative care and patient monitoring.
• Assist with anaesthetic induction, monitoring, and post-anaesthesia recovery under supervision.
• Maintain sterilization protocols including autoclaving of instruments and performing general cleaning of workstations, cages, and clinical areas.
• Support the oversight and on-the-job training of junior veterinary nurses and patient care assistants.
• Take ownership of day-to-day practice operations, ensuring efficient workflow and resource coordination.
• Demonstrate a sound understanding of relevant veterinary legislation, clinic policies, and standard operating procedures to uphold clinical and ethical standards.

Requirements:

• Degree or Diploma in Veterinary Technology, Veterinary Nursing, or other relevant veterinary science qualifications.
• Candidates with at least 2 years' experience in the veterinary industry and demonstrated competency in general and advanced clinical support are preferred. Fresh graduates holding AVS-recognised qualifications are encouraged to apply.
• Certification in Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) is required.
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively within a clinical team.
• Strong understanding of veterinary protocols, patient care standards, and clinical safety procedures.
