Vice President / Senior Vice President – Loans Operations (Middle Office)

Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced VP / SVP, Loans Operations (Middle Office) to lead and oversee end‑to‑end post‑trade loan operations across syndicated and bilateral facilities. This role plays a critical control and governance function, partnering closely with Front Office, Legal, Risk, Finance, and external stakeholders to ensure accurate execution, lifecycle management, and regulatory compliance of loan transactions.

The role offers regional exposure and leadership responsibility within a fast‑paced institutional banking environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the full loan lifecycle , including deal closing, drawdowns, rollovers, rate resets, interest calculations, fee processing, and repayments
  • Act as the middle office control point between Front Office, Loan Agency, Operations, Finance, and external counterparties
  • Ensure accurate review and interpretation of credit agreements , term sheets, and legal documentation
  • Manage operational risk, controls, and governance , including audit, regulatory, and compliance requirements
  • Lead and develop a regional loans operations team , providing oversight, coaching, and performance management
  • Drive process improvements, automation, and standardisation to enhance efficiency and reduce operational risk
  • Partner with stakeholders on new product initiatives, system enhancements, and change management
  • Ensure timely resolution of complex breaks, escalations, and client queries
  • Oversee SLA adherence, KPI reporting, and operational metrics

Key Requirements

  • 10–15+ years of experience in loans operations, loan agency, or middle office within a corporate or investment banking environment
  • Strong expertise in syndicated loans, bilateral facilities, agency & non‑agency structures
  • Proven experience at the VP or SVP level , with team leadership and stakeholder management responsibilities
  • Solid understanding of loan documentation, operational risk controls, and regulatory expectations
  • Experience working with loan systems (e.g., Loan IQ, ACBS, AFS, or equivalent platforms)
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage senior stakeholders and front office teams
  • Strong problem‑solving mindset with a track record of managing complex transactions and escalations
