Job Description: Physical Verification Engineer

Role Summary

We are seeking a Physical Verification Engineer to ensure the accuracy, reliability, and manufacturability of advanced semiconductor designs. The candidate will be responsible for physical verification at SoC, core, and block levels, working closely with Physical Design, CAD, and methodology teams to achieve clean tape-out and improve verification flows.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform physical verification for SoCs, cores, and block-level designs.
• Run, analyze, and debug DRC (Design Rule Check), LVS (Layout vs. Schematic), ERC (Electrical Rule Check), Antenna checks, and DFM (Design for Manufacturability) using industry-standard EDA tools.
• Collaborate with Physical Design (PNR) teams to identify root causes and resolve physical verification violations.
• Ensure tape-out readiness by validating compliance with all foundry rules, sign-off requirements, and design constraints.
• Work with CAD and methodology teams to enhance physical verification flows, automation, and run-time efficiency.
• Review foundry rule decks and support technology node bring-up activities.
• Document issues, solutions, and best practices to improve design quality and verification turnaround time.

Required Qualifications

• 3 to 10 Years of Experience in Physical Verification.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, VLSI, or a related field.Strong understanding of VLSI physical design and fabrication processes.
• Hands-on experience with physical verification tools such as Calibre, ICV, or Pegasus.
• Solid knowledge of DRC, LVS, ERC, Antenna, and DFM concepts.
• Experience working with advanced technology nodes (e.G., 7nm, 5nm, 3nm) is a plus.

Preferred Skills

• Experience with SoC-level integration and sign-off flows.
• Proficiency in Perl, Python, Tcl, or Shell scripting for automation.
• Familiarity with foundry PDKs and rule deck customization.
• Strong debugging, problem-solving, and analytical skills.
• Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
